Course overview
Over this 4-week course, you will be introduced to the traditional art of bookbinding. You will learn 2 different techniques: hand binding a casebound book, and coptic stitch with an exposed spine. This course will allow you to put all your favourite paperstock into either a sketchbook or notebook, through a process that’s both hands-on and meditative.
By the end of the course, you’ll have created 2 beautifully bound books that will last and last, and you’ll have the basic skills to continue practicing at home.
Materials provided
All materials and tools will be provided, however you’re welcome to bring images and books for inspiration.
Who can attend
No previous experience necessary. All participants must be over 18 years old.
