Event Time:

Event Location:

Life Drawing is considered a fundamental practice for all artists. The focus on the study of human form can be instrumental in supporting individual expression and perception, as well as encouraging critical analysis and hand/eye coordination. It’s also quite a lot of fun!

Through a selection of different models, situations, movement and repose, you will:

  • Develop your technique and observation skills.
  • Build confidence in your drawing skills whilst developing free imaginative responses.
  • Explore your own language, marks and approach.

This course is suitable for all levels, from absolute beginners to experienced artists, with targeted exercises and advice to each individual student whilst maintaining a productive and supportive group experience. The tutor will encourage experimentation alongside careful observation, with advice tailored to nurture each student’s individual visual language.

Robyn Wilson-Owen is an internationally published illustrator whose work is rooted firmly in her observational drawing practice. Alongside her illustration work, she teaches for Falmouth University and the Open University on BA and MA courses. She also teaches a variety of adult and community drawing classes, including having taught life drawing classes in Cambridge for two years.

Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

A selection of basic drawing materials and paper will be available for all participants, but you are very welcome to bring in your own to experiment with or get advice on.
