In this 8 week botanical illustration course, you’ll work in graphite, ink and colour pencil to create precise, expressive botanical drawings — the kind that make people stop and look twice. You’ll start by building core observational skills and techniques, working through sketchbook studies before developing a final personal project of your own choosing in the later weeks.
The course welcomes all levels, from complete beginners to those with existing drawing or botanical knowledge. Whether you’re picking up a pencil for the first time or looking to develop a practice you already love, you’ll find plenty to take away.
All materials and subject matter are provided, in a relaxed and unhurried learning environment.
Vicky Hallam is a professional botanical artist and illustrator with years of teaching experience spanning university lecturing and secondary education. She holds a diploma in Botanical Illustration from the Society of Botanical Artists and is a member of the Iceni Botanical Artists — so you’ll be learning from someone who works at the highest level of the craft. See more of her work at vickyhallamdesigns.com.
Places are limited to keep the group small and ensure individual guidance — so if you’re curious, don’t wait too long. Everything you need is provided, though you’re welcome to bring your own tools or images for inspiration.
£230 for 8 week course
Please note there are no sessions on Mondays 4th and 25th May, and on Thursday 28th May.
