Our Ceramics for improvers course is geared towards participants with some experience in pottery (having completed at least 2 or 3 beginners’ courses). You will be guided through some more advanced techniques to make both sculptural and functional pottery, as well as spend time using the potter’s wheel with one-to-one instructions.
You will be supported to focus on your individual interests and preferred techniques and get expert advice to bring your creative ideas to life. At the end, you’ll decorate your designs using both coloured slips and glazes.
All finished works will be fired in the kiln at Rowan after your last session and will be available to take home after about 4weeks.
This course is for improvers – you need to have some experience with ceramics already.
All materials and tools will be provided, but you are welcome to bring in any materials for your own projects. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting a little mucky.
This course is led by local potter Beci Callow (https://becicallow.com/). Beci is also running a Ceramics for Beginners course here.
