If you’ve completed a couple of beginners’ courses and caught the ceramics bug, our ceramics for improvers is the natural next step. Over 8 weeks, you’ll move into more advanced hand-building techniques — both sculptural and functional — and get dedicated one-to-one time on the potter’s wheel to refine your skills.
The focus here is on you. Rather than following a set curriculum, you’ll be supported to pursue your own interests, develop your preferred techniques, and get expert guidance to bring your own creative ideas to life. You’ll finish by decorating your work with coloured slips and glazes, and all fired pieces will be ready to collect from Rowan’s kiln around four weeks after your final session.
This course is for improvers — you’ll need at least two or three beginners’ courses under your belt to get the most from it.
Beci Callow is a local potter who brings patience, expertise, and a genuine enthusiasm for helping people grow. At this level, her one-to-one guidance really comes into its own. See more of her work at becicallow.com.
Places are limited and get booked fast, so it’s worth securing yours early. Everything you need is provided — just wear something you don’t mind getting a little mucky.
£230 for 8 week course
Please note there are no sessions on Mondays 4th and 25th May, and on Thursday 28th May.
