Back by popular demand, this friendly 8 week sewing course guides you through a series of satisfying projects — think tote bags, cushions and bunting — that make perfect handmade gifts or lovely additions to your own home. Each week brings something new to try, and your confidence with a sewing machine will grow with every session.

The course is open to all levels, from complete beginners to those who’ve sewn before and want to get back into it. You’ll pick up practical techniques you can keep using long after the course ends.

Clare Wadd is a self-taught seamstress with a genuine passion for the craft and a talent for finding creative approaches that make each piece feel unique. Her enthusiasm for sewing is infectious — expect a warm, encouraging atmosphere where it’s fine to unpick and try again.

All materials are included, and sewing machines are available to use. That said, if you have your own machine, we strongly recommend bringing it — Clare can give you tailored advice on getting the best from it. You’re also welcome to bring favourite fabrics or images for inspiration.
