‘Made this way’ is a striking new jewellery collection from Rowan.
Created in collaboration with jewellery maker Lydia Hartshorn, this collection brings together the originality of Rowan artists with Lydia’s contemporary design expertise. It is inspired by a series of visits to the Cambridge University Botanic Garden, where artists explored natural forms, textures, and colours — all of which are beautifully reflected in the final pieces.
A group of Rowan artists were empowered to take charge of this project from start to finish. They jointly decided on the themes, designs, use of materials, packaging and branding. This experience boosted their artistic confidence and honed their retail skills, highlighting the value of creative autonomy supported by practical guidance.
This piece was designed by Jenny Gibson, along with a Poppy ring.
Materials: Cast brass pendant; brass round wire oval chain (3mm x 4.5mm) with E-coating; approx. length 60cm.
