Mixed media

In mixed media, student artists use a wide range of materials and techniques, such as drawing, paint, collage, felting, sculpture and textiles to create both 2D and 3D artworks.

Mixed Media at Rowan is led by tutor’s Lima Rose and Steve Faint.

Before joining Rowan in 2010, Lima volunteered at Headway and Mind, both supporting and running art workshops. Lima enjoys working 3 dimensionally and has a fascination with felting.  Lima believes in giving student artists the space to become present through mindfulness and embodied movement, and has established this as a permanent part of the activities at Rowan. Student artists are welcomed to start their day doing chair yoga and mindfulness practices with Lima. Lima also leads explorative movement workshops with the students.

Steve Faint has a background in fine art. Steve works with the more traditional mediums including drawing, painting, and collage. Outside of Rowan Steve uses his painting practice to explore environmental themes. Steve has a degree in teaching.

If you would like to be creative and use a wide range of materials – why not become a student?
